Nowadays, everyone checks the current trends before making decisions. Of course, there is a very big need to comply with the current trends whether it be fashion, fitness, generative AI, distractions to deal with stress, environmental concerns and even value hackers. Why not get a head start on style and fitness? Let’s look at the latest top fitness trends of 2024.

The number one top fitness trend begins in the Tech Market. This is the surge in wearable devices to track physical activities, heart rate, sleep patterns and overall general health. The wearable device market has grown to over 178.72 billion dollars worldwide in 2024. The best wearable devices are the Apple Watch, XReal Air 2 Ultra AR, Samsung Galaxy Ring, and Garmin Health. A trending function has been the use of AI to track women’s health like menopause detection.

This carries on into number 2 which is Biohacking. Biohacking is the science-based approach to enhance performance. The process of tracking diet, exercise to improve one’s body or mental facilities. With the increases in AI and other technologies, biohacking has been quickly advancing. Some people believe that this will eventually lead to human augmentation, and some analysts believe that the market will grow to $780 billion in the next five years. The healthcare companies are embracing nature and more natural approaches to help mental health, coping, relaxation, stress, and mindfulness.

Sometimes we need to go outside and touch grass.

The use of smart drugs or nootropics, advanced dietary supplements are used for cognitive enhancement.

Since COVID, the home gym market has spiked. Home gyms are now going high-tech. No longer do companies just sell an exercise bike or a treadmill. They come with large touchscreens which can stream scenery or group video spin classes. With the home gym equipment like the Nordictrack Vault Complete, Proform Vue Smart Reflector, or Tonal Home Gym, once again, AI has been used to determine a user’s suitable weight loads.

With the advancement of home gyms and wearable devices, mobile fitness apps have become another way to influence the way people track their progress. The mobile fitness app market is determined to gross over $6.8 billion in 2024. The mobile fitness apps are now starting to include guided workouts. By providing on-demand workouts or streaming workouts guided by fitness personal trainers, personal coaches and other fitness professionals. Companies like Nike, Peloton and Zwift are turning in this direction to benefit from this market. These guided workouts have included strength, bodyweight exercises for those without equipment, Yoga, Pilates and cardio.

Over the last several years, there has been a surge in the high-intensity interval training (HIIT) that most thought was subsiding, but a recent study shows that HIIT still remains in the top 20 fitness trends. Functional fitness, similar to HIIT, is slowly increasing in the trends. Functional fitness, which encompasses the use of exercise, is designed to strengthen the body for everyday movements.

With al the different trends, I still wonder about some of them like Hyper-targeted fitness. It sounds normal but these are targeted workouts for more specific and unusual body areas. This trend is growing in popularity.

And where would we be without the trends for new and interesting diets. Plant-based diets that remove meat from your diet, the search for the word “vegan” has grown 60% over the last ten years. This trend causes companies like Beyond Meat, Impossible Food, Laird Superfoods and other companies to be part of an industry worth over $27.6 billion worldwide by 2030. Unfortunately, there has been a drop in the search for low-carb ketogenic diets or keto. Intermittent fasting trends have been growing steadily over the past ten years. Diets like the Ornish diet, named after Dr, Dean Ornish is a form of vegetarianism that embraces healthy lifestyles, and the Bland diet which helps people suffering from nausea, heartburn and vomiting have growing trends.

The need to recover from exercise has the workout recovery market to grow. This market involves the massage guns, intelligent neck massagers, heat Shiatsu foot massagers and electric cupping therapy massagers.

The last trend is the trend for preventive fitness. I know it sounds strange and I am not sure that I agree with this one. It is similar to functional fitness and embraces a focus on persistent aches and pains for a more active lifestyle. This fitness is geared towards minimizing these issues. There is a growing popularity in “reverse running” to deal with constant issues with knee complaints
